Shearwater aren’t cutting corners on their new album ‘Jet Plane and Oxbow’. The group’s latest work (out 22nd January via Sub Pop) is a big-thinking, grand-scoped journey. Jonathan Meiburg’s never been one to dodge a challenge, but this time round he’s going for the jugular.
Latest track ‘Only Child’ (premiering on DIY) is a vast escape. Every last note is thrown into the skies, every giant declaration worthy adventure. More than anything, this is loud. Tone it down if you want, but the song and record sound best when they’re pushed to the limit.
