ANOHNI has put out a new video for ‘Drone Bomb Me,’ starring none other than British supermodel Naomi Campbell. The artist formerly known as Anthony and the Johnsons releases her debut album ‘HOPELESSNESS’ on May 6th via Rough Trade.
The new track aired for the first time on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show, and ANOHNI explained that the song is a reflection of the drone strikes happening worldwide. The song, she said, is delivered from the perspective of a young orphaned girl whose family have all been killed by drones.
‘Drone Bomb Me’ is the second cut to come from ‘HOPELESSNESS’ following first preview ‘4 Degrees’. ANOHNI is set to showcase the album at London’s Barbican on 7th-8th July.
There’s also a video to match, directed by mastermind Nabil, with additional art direction from Riccardo Tisci. It features Naomi Campbell lip-synching intently along with ANOHNI’s powerful, unavoidable vocal. Watch it below.
