MOTHERS -It Hurts Until It Doesn't

Watch out - Mothers’ new video for ‘It Hurts Until It Doesn’t’ is very sad indeed. Along with lots of close-ups shifting in and out of focus, and cryptic surveys asking things like “there is no mountain between us - true or false,” it tells the true story of missing friends. The perfect visual for the Athens band’s meandering, plaintive single at first glance, the video is - in actual fact, about Kristine Leschper’s now-missing cat.

“Hardly more than a vague blur, this footage is the only remaining video I have of my best friend, who was so often the only thing keeping me rooted in reality, feeding me optimism, helping me survive,” she said in a press release.

‘It Hurts Until It Doesn’t’ is taken from Mothers’ matter of factly titled debut ’When You Walk A Long Distance You Are Tired’, which came out last month on Wichita
