Following his recent debut album news, Tourist has shared a very flash new video for ‘To Have You Back’. It’s directed by Davy Evans and Jason Drew, who between them, have worked with everyone from Thom Yorke, to The xx and Zomby.
A visual barrage of fancy-pants CGI effects, William Phillips’ new video is very nice indeed. Expanding on the meaning behind the clip, Evans and Drew said “the video is an abstract story of the decay and breakup of a relationship but also the eventual meet up and rekindling. Its told through a series of vignettes representing everyday still lifes that are taken over with abstract black liquid (for the breakup) then colour(meeting again) and finally neon explosions (rekindling).”
Last week Tourist announced his debut album ‘U,’ sharing a non-video version of ‘To Have You Back’. It’s slated for release at some point in Spring. Watch the new video for the lead single below. bron ; diy
