Röyksopp Announce Final Album The Inevitable End, Share New Song

With The Inevitable End we've moved into a darker subject matter, with emphasis on the lyrical content. This candid approach feels very both personal, sincere and conclusive... With this album it became clear we wanted to make an album in a classical sense even if it's the last one we make... We feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format. In our consecutive run of albums, we have been able to say what we want to say and do what we want to do with the LP. We're not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us.

Over de track zelf zegt het duo:

"a recollection and contemplation of the emotional aspects of the endeavours as described in the track title. The difficulties of letting go of emotional attachments - even those of a questionable nature".

En zegt James:

It was quite a surreal experience. I’d only spoken to Torbjorn once via Skype prior to recording and I hadn’t heard any of the music they wanted me to sing on. I felt slightly out of my depth at first. I felt privileged to be asked to collaborate with Röyksopp, and to be invited into their unique musical world.

Wij vinden de track geweldig.
